Tourists ride a cable car or tarabita across the Rio Pastaza Valley toward the twin waterfalls of Manto de la Novia on the Route of Waterfalls (Ruta de lasCascadas) in Banos, Ecuador. Banos has become an adventure destination for foreigners and Ecuadorians, and is known as the "Gateway to the Amazon" because of its location on the Pastaza River in the Amazon Basin.
