An empty cable car or tarabita crosses the Rio Pastaza valley leaving behind the twin waterfalls of Manto de la Novia on the Route of the Waterfalls (Ruta de las Cascadas) in Banos, Ecuador. Banos has become an adventure destination for foreigners as well as Ecuadorians, and is known as the "Gateway to the Amazon" because of it location on the Pastaza River in the Amazon River Basin.
